Measure the broken spring only from coil to coil.

Measure the Inside Diameter Of Your Door Spring
It will be one of the following:
1 3/4" - 2" - 2 1/4" - 2 1/2" - 2 5/8" - 2 3/4" - 3" - 3 1/8" 3 1/2" 3 3/4"
STEP 3
Determine The Wire Size
Example: 20 Coils measures 4 1/2"=.225 wire size.
